Take the road to the beach. Every half hour (depending on the season) there is a small ferry boat arriving at Ilha de Armona approximately 8 minutes later.
Every half hour a ferry leaves from the Galp fuel station at the harbour to the Isle of Culatra where you can also walk to the lighthouse. The ferry boats to Armona and Farol depart from there as well. The crossings take about 15 minutes each.
A new pontoon bridge leads to the Ilha de Tavira.
You can either walk about 20 minutes to the beach or you take the local railway train.
In each place you will find shallow beaches with fine sand which are particularly suitable for children. If you walk just a few steps to the left or right you’ll find isolated spots, or you can walk for hours.
